Seeing Marc's image of the 5 1/4 inch floppy made me remember a story I heard from a former colleague who, about ten years ago, was in charge of a group of students filing a backlog of physical records in a big corporation in Wellington, New Zealand.

One ingenious young man, discovering a large quantity of loose 5 1/4 inch floppies found that they went into the standard physical file covers much more easily if you used a double hole punch on them...  :-0

I just posted a graphic representation of one possible approach for ‘attaching’ signatures to electronic documents at

PS: this approach is highly suitable for a Friday afternoon.

Afternoon All

An ‘electronic signatures 101’ question.

I understand the basics of the digital/identity/public key certificate but am curious as to how this is embedded/attached irrevocably (‘affixed’ in old money) to the document.  I have no doubt that it is just that I am unable to see quite how from the online resources I am able to access.

Thanks

Regards

Meic
