I set up the paid internships board just as a way of trying to put together a centralized list of specifically science-based internships, whatever the field or location - as long as they are paid.

I tend to just keep an eye out for placements and add them as and when - and I do keep an eye on this list, but if anyone has science-related placements going please feel free to email me the details: [log in to unmask]

As for the Middle East blog, it's well worth checking out, and whilst there, list members might also be interested in our India blog - Indigenous, which is currently featuring a series on Indian postdocs working away from home, and their experiences http://blogs.nature.com/indigenus/.

Nature Middle East: House of Wisdom science blog
The other item is this post on 'So you want to be a science blogger?' (published 26 June 2013, relating to a session at the World Conference of Science Journalists #WCSJ2013) which led me to spot that Nature has a Nature Middle East blog called House of Wisdom:

"Welcome to the Nature Middle East blog, House of Wisdom! The blog is designed to be a place for the science community from the Middle East, or those interested in the region, to meet, discuss and learn. We will scour and bring you the most interesting science news from across the Arab world and also discuss the various problems of the region and how science can help solve them."

It's been going since 7 February 2010 so I am spectacularly late to this party!
