An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Web content manager and News editor to join the Public Engagement, Media & Grants team at the MRC Clinical Sciences Centre. The successful candidate will manage the Institute's website (www.csc.mrc.ac.uk), writing weekly news articles about our latest research findings. He/she will oversee the development of a brand new site to launch in 2014. The post-holder will also manage affiliated websites including the Biomedical Picture of the Day website (www.bpod.mrc.ac.uk), helping to promote scientific research through social media channels including Tumblr, Twitter and Facebook.

Salary: £25726 - £29347

Applicants should have a first degree (2:1 or higher) in a relevant subject, excellent communication skills, the ability to convey complex scientific concepts to a lay-audience, good editorial skills, experience using Photoshop to prepare online media, and ideally some knowledge of related Adobe Creative Suite tools.
