Hi there,
Expert Women’s Day, run by the BBC Academy, is coming to Cardiff in October and you may be interested in applying.
Expert Women's Day is a free introduction to the world of Broadcasting for women at the top of the academic and business worlds. It is designed to boost the representation of female pundits in areas where women are sometimes under-represented in the media. The day will offer a range of practical broadcasting experience, including sessions on camera and in a radio studio, as well as masterclasses and networking with experienced programme makers and industry leaders.
Events in London and Salford this year have had more than 2000 applications and trained over 90 expert women who have gone on to make over 130 appearances on programmes ranging from Sky News and CNN to Woman's Hour and The Today Programme.
The Academy are keen to attract delegates who specialise in the following areas for the event:
History
Classical Music
Poetry & The Arts
Media & Popular Culture
Consumer Affairs
Political & Defence Analysis
Science
Engineering & Technology
Business
Here's a link with some more info on the day and the application process -
We are also holding a day in Belfast which is currently open for applications.
I hope this might be of interest to you - do feel free to pass it on to any friends or colleagues who might like to get involved.
