I have recently seen a job application  for clinical staff from for a large Occupational Heath provider which asks about the Hepatitis B immunology status and date of last vaccination.

This is before interview or job offer. I was surprised to see this.

I cannot see that an OH Advisor's Hepatitis B status would be taken into consideration when deciding whether or not to interview.

I wonder what would happen if the person declared that they were a Hepatitis B carrier and did not get the job or even an interview (similar situation to the practice nurse applicant methinks)

As far as I am aware  most OH professionals do not undertake invasive exposure prone procedures.

If they are taking on some staff who undertake these activities , I wonder why they are not asking about Hepatitis C and HIV status as well.
It would be better not to ask these questions  on the application form, and add a supplementary questionnaire for those doing IEPP once the job was offered?
Cheers,
Diane
