Following
a successful trial
run looking at Social Media in Biological Recording last month (linked to
the theme of our soon-to-be-published summer newsletter), we will be running an
online discussion on different aspects of skills and training, via our Google Group,
from 12.00 till around 20.00 on August 7th. You might be interested
in participating in parts of it but the benefits of presenting the event in
this way is that it’s possible to pose questions or share information in
relation to individual points, well after the event has concluded and all the
information will be permanently available.
The
upcoming discussion is one that is likely to have wide appeal and Sue
Townsend and Richard Burkmar (FSC), Sarah Whild (MMU), Sally Hayns (CIEEM) and
Craig MacAdam (Buglife) have all kindly agreed to fill the interviewee role for
different segments of the discussion.
This
sort of event, which can potentially reach and be of lasting benefit to a very
wide audience, is something that the Forum is likely to organise in
collaboration with others in future, covering a range of topics on a regular
basis.
For the August session, any further news
or details may be found via our website, the above
groups or under #SkillsTalk in Twitter.
