The book is very much in copyright and the author is fully on board with the project so this is not an issue at all. Unless Mike says otherwise, and I am not speaking out of turn, the print run will be modest using something very much on the lines of the print on demand method suggested.

Tanya, Mike
I am a publishing professional and am always delighted to see books come
ack into print (my own project is the Cambridge Library Collection, to
hich I am gradually adding more mining-related material; we publish in
aperback and on-line).
So far as the Cwmorthin book goes, you first need to check the copyright
ituation. I am not a lawyer, but if you message me directly I can give
ou a few rules of thumb, in my private capacity. Of course you may have
one all this already.
There are one or two outfits operating who, for a modest set-up fee, will
roduce print on demand single copies of a book to order (thus eliminating
uess work about the print run), and also arrange for its e-publication.
I hope you can find the plates - locating missing plates is how I spend
uite a lot of my time, as there is nothing more irritating for a customer
han to buy a reprint and find the maps and pictures are missing. Some
eprint houses are not very scrupulous about completeness.
Regards
Kate

Why go old-school? Why not an e-book?
Ebooks never go out of print and they cost nothing to reproduce. They can
lso be automatically updated/corrected. They go on making money or the
ublisher/author years after the tree-masher print run is exhausted.
As someone who has spent a lot of time searching for OP books to research
rojects I wish to urge all publishers to move to e-publishing, for their
urrent output and their back catalogue.
