I agree with the consensus of using “lessons” to translate ‘lectio’, though in American office books since the Great Reformation of the 1960s the term Reading has been the usual translation for lectio. In using either English term, you might want to be clear in context by noting that you are referring to a Vigils Lesson, or Matins, or Lauds reading etc. …there are several Lectiones, capitula, etc. in the mass and office which are now called “readings” in English liturgical usage.
