Greetings all!
I have not dared to turn the name of the above individual into the nominative, let alone any modern European language, and googling the Latin form produced far too many  documents to sort through! He published what is described in an ordinance by the king of Denmar as "Pia et vere Catholica, et consentiens veteri Ecclesi;, Ordinatio Cæremoniarum, pro Canonicis et Monasteriis' (and googling that brought up precisely the document I´m trying to find out about!) I´m trying to find out who Johannes of Pomerania was, when he wrote, and how influential he was. Presumably the King of Denmark didn´t choose just anyone when promulgating the Reformation!
Thanks in advance,
Meg

I am no expert in this area, but unless I am completely mistaken, you see the first Lutheran kirkenordenung for Denmark.  As a matter of fact Bungenhagen probably wrote most of what you see.  Since it was written in co-operation with a panel of Banish clerics and civil officials.  Transitions  from Catholicism to Lutheranism were usually more complicated in Europe than in the Britian.  Each jurisidiction was different.

'Pomeranius' was Bugenhagen's rennaisance' nickname.

Meg, I hope this helps.  Far too little research has ever been done on Bugenhagen, at least from what I have been able to find.  By the nature of his writing, he signed little of it.  We know some of the
kirkenordenung he cetainly wrote, have strong suspisions concerning others, and questions concerning many.

Kindest regards,
Frank
