Yes interesting question!

And as a previous post said, why now before the final name change, or was that already known before the web page was produced, and is sat waiting there.

I asked our firms web designer who is young clever, artistic and technical and produces excellent web sites for a very small price. He is working on one for me now for the charity I chair,

His comments :-

I don’t mind the site, its clean and fast loading and does all the modern tricks of responsive design for different formats ...technically good stuff.

Personally I just find it a tad boring....although I have a short attention span

I think  exceptions of websites are changing, they want to be entertained , they have shorter attention spans, they want chunks, they want to browse rather than read massive chunks of text...simpler, bigger clickable boxes, more white space...more magaziney.

Maybe the menu navigation is a tad tad hard work?

That’s me being very nit-picky though, technically bob on. Maybe just a tad boring though?

I have to say I agree with him

Librarians are not boring I have found!!

Now here’s an interesting question:

At what point did the following page and documents get dropped from the CILIP website? And why?

Principles of Good Governance and Communication

The report of the Governance Review Task Force approved by Council in December 2006, which outlined a new governance structure for CILIP, contained fundamental Governance and Communication Principles on which the current governance structure is based.

Governance Principles

Communication Principles

It was still there in 2010!

In my case it is asking for a validation code which CILIP claims to have sent me by e mail, but it hasn't.  I don't see why my details couldn't have just been transferred over without that palaver.

Also, as others have pointed out, announcing a meeting on the home page that happened weeks ago is not that impressive.  And yes, shouldn't all this have waited until a name change, if there is to be one, has been agreed?

Dear Miranda

Check your spam or junk mail folder for the validation email from CILIP - that's where mine ended up
