Dear all

HER Audit programme: we want to hear want you think

Many will be familiar with the HER audit programme managed by the Heritage Information Partnerships (HIPs) team. This enables HERs to self-assess their structure, staffing, content, compliance with standards and data quality. The aim of the audit process is to encourage HERs into a position of continuous improvement. Each participating HER receives support in the form of an individual action plan drawn up and agreed with English Heritage in order to achieve this.

After three or five years, EH and the HER work together to review progress made against the recommendations in the agreed action plan.

We are looking to make the process easier for HERs to work with and to do this we would like to know your thoughts on undertaking an audit; why you find the process beneficial and what might discourage you from taking part. We are seeking feedback from HERs who have undertaken an audit and also from those who are yet to do so. We have put together a short questionnaire at http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/DM6N7Y3 and will be very grateful if you can spare 10 minutes or so to complete this. The questionnaire will stay open until 2 September 2103.

If you have any queries, please do contact me off list by email to [log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]>

Thank you for your help.

Best wishes

Jane
