GCG are hosting a joint symposium with SPPC in Edinburgh on the 26th and 27th August, and would like to encourage all GCG Members to offer a talk or poster presentation for this meeting.
Presentations can be on any subject related to palaeontological preparation, conservation, curation or collections, including the history of geology.
The symposium is hosted jointly by National Museums Scotland and the University of Edinburgh.

14.00-16.00 - Visit to National Museums Scotland Collection Centre and
Laboratories.
Abstracts for the above meeting are welcomed. Abstracts should be written in English and may be on any aspect of palaeontological preparation, conservation, curation or collections. They should contain the name(s) of the author(s), their address(es), a succinct title and body of text which should be no longer than 250 words.

The deadline for abstract submission is Friday 19th July, following which abstracts will be reviewed by the organising committee. Successful abstracts will be included in a printed volume available at the meeting and also in PDF form on the SVPCA web-site.
Presentations will be given in the Hutton Lecture Theatre of the University of Edinburgh and will be twenty minutes in length (fifteen minutes presentation and five minutes for questions). Presentations may be in either PowerPoint (Office 2010 version) or Adobe Reader (Version XI). The equipment in the theatre uses the Windows 7 operating system. If you have other requirements you need to
bring your own laptop and inform the organisers.
Poster presentations will be made in the Grant Institute of the University of Edinburgh. Poster boards conform to the standard A0 dimensions in landscape format. Posters must be affixed with Velcro tape, which will be provided.
