Call for Academics to Provide Input into Carnival Futures: Notting Hill Carnival 2020

The Carnival Futures: Notting Hill Carnival 2020 project aims to assist organisations involved in the staging of the Notting Hill Carnival to prepare for an increasingly uncertain future. Organisations within the carnival community are being invited to engage in the process of scenario planning and consider how their external relationship portfolio and internal capabilities need to be adapted to match future requirements. It is the first time a research exercise of this type has been attempted for the Notting Hill Carnival.

The carnival organisations cannot undertake this process alone. The academic community is an important stakeholder as a provider of research which can inform future planning for events such as the Notting Hill Carnival.

Academics engaged in festival/event/cultural management/policy research which could potentially support the Notting Hill Carnival are invited to participate in a workshop on September 25th 2013 at 10:00am-1:00pm at the King’s College London Guy’s Campus. Light refreshments will be served.
