Exactly - not just one context, not just one story. But thinking about how to enable researchers to find different stories within archives is surely key for us? That's why I think its good to think about new ways to present archives, and not just see the traditional archival hierarchy self-contained finding aid as always being the right approach. That's why structure is so important. It gives more potential for doing this with the metadata.

That a lot of what we do which looks like unnecessary bureaucracy is because we are about preserving evidence for future users to allow people as yet unborn to construct narratives from the archives of which we can not yet even conceive.
