This is an excellent opportunity for a biomedical statistician with experience in statistical genetics, who has a track record of high quality applied / methodological research and an interest in causal inference methodology, to join one of the UK’s leading centres for research in population health sciences - the University of Bristol School of Social and Community Medicine. The post holder will develop their programme of applied and methodological research in collaboration with colleagues within the School, and will work with multidisciplinary research teams within the newly established cross-Faculty MRC Integrative Epidemiology Unit (headed by George Davey Smith, see http://www.bristol.ac.uk/integrative-epidemiology/) to develop and apply methods in causal epidemiology. The post-holder will also contribute to teaching and administration for the School’s undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. We hope to appoint a Reader or Senior Lecturer, but a suitable applicant may be considered for appointment at Chair level.
