Ditsong Museums of South Africa is a National Museums Institution based in Tshwane. It is an amalgamation of three national museums and five site museums. It is a public entity under the Department of Arts and Culture. The institution seeks to appoint suitable persons with relevant experience and qualifications to the following posts on a permanent basis. It is the intention of the Ditsong Council to promote representivity through the filling of these posts.

 

 

INTERNSHIP

POST-DOCTORATE (ARCHAEOZOOLOGY)

SALARY: R110 000 PER ANNUM WITHOUT BENEFITS

 

DITSONG NATIONAL MUSEUM OF NATURAL HISTORY 

 

Requirements:  ·PhD ·   Publication record · Knowledge of mammal osteology. Applicants must submit a research agenda.

 

Essential Criteria: · Ability to conduct research independently and network with other researchers · Computer literacy

 

Duties: ·  Undertake research on the Pleistocene-Holocene zooarchaeology of Southern Africa (e.g. faunal analysis, human-animal relation, past environments, the spread of livestock, quantification, taphonomy or any other relevant topics) · Publish research results in peer-reviewed journals
