we can
document a document
and
record a record

we can also
record a record as a record
but can we really document a document as a document

we can accurately record a noise as a record but can we document a noise as a document accurately
Therefore that is 2 to 1 in favour of the record and plural adds the "s"

so its document and records, that is good enough for me on a Friday afternoon!, Thanks Mark

Many Regards

Geoff

David I thought you view archive/s at a records office :-)

Good question no idea of the answer.

Maybe because a document is about a single entity where you use version control . while records comes from a number of files/folders.

Does anyone know why 'document' is traditionally singular but 'records' is traditionally plural in the above?
