I'm going - but prob setting out from home (Cambs/ Beds border) rather than from the Long Shop (Leiston - about as far East in Suffolk as you can get without getting your feet wet)Anna MercerLong Shop MuseumOn Thu, Jun 6, 2013 at 12:48 PM, David Blackburn <[log in to unmask]> wrote:
Dear all,
I’m afraid I’ve nothing more to report – it hasn’t proved possible to have the discussion I’d hoped to have ahead of the meeting. That means that we’ll all have to make our own decisions. I’m trying to arrange to go myself (from Stowmarket, approximately) so if anyone would like to call me on 01449 737112, I’m open to discussion about sharing transport.
Best regards

Dear All,
Still hoping for feed back from David on the potential benefit of this meeting/Industrious East from HEN's point of view.
No one else from the Forncett Steam Museum is available next Friday and it's quite a trek from south Norfolk to Waltham Abbey. Is anyone else going using a route such that we could link up? It would be nice to have some company on the journey. It would also be nice to share the cost!
Best wishes,
Bill Starling

I thought HENners might be interested to know about this. I wasn't around in the Indust heritage field when Industrious East was most active - but they produced some good materials, I think.

Hello
I am pleased to forward you a letter from Ian Reed, General Manager of East Anglian Railway Museum, inviting you to a meeting of the Industrious East Steering Group to be held on Friday 14th June at The Royal Gunpowder Mills. I also attach a programme for the event.
As you are aware, the Industrious East initiative has become somewhat dormant of late and one of the main purposes of the meeting is to discuss how the project might be revived and how it might contribute to encouraging more visitors to the many interesting industrial heritage attractions within the east of England.
Please could you let me know by Friday 7th June if you plan to attend the meeting as this will assist with the catering arrangements.
I look forward to meeting you at the Royal Gunpowder Mills.
Regards
Jonathan
