I would call them busy?
Job title inflation is really dumb, have seen some beauties. I
thought about re-branding myself from Conservator to Senior Decay Management
Specialist. But then I thought, naaah, dumb. At Leeds Museums and Galleries
there are Learning and Access Officers. This is too long a job
title. Learning Officer should be enough. There is another kind of post,
new, called Community Curators. This is, in my view, a misnomer. As far as I can
tell none of the postholders have any curatorial background whatsover, and it
would not surprise me if what they do in terms of community engagement becomes,
in effect, an extension of social services. Community Officer would have been
better. Never mind, in the end it is what they actually do that is what defines
their service delivery.
