I have just had a new Invigilator start and he joined in the middle of the June season so no one had actually seen him.   The first day, he turned up immaculately dressed in a suit, tie etc and because I had some HR documents to complete with him, he was a little late going into the exam hall.   Everyone, students and Invigilators alike thought he was an Inspector and I had the best run exam of the whole season.   Might be worth trying this with a severe looking member of staff not many of the team have seen J

All,
I have had so many problems with my invigilators that I have had to get HR involved!
They are constantly complaining and are late, don’t turn up or go to the wrong centre (!!) when they do turn up, they talk to each other, use their phones and read newspapers. HR have advised writing to them all reminding them of their roles and responsibilities, then doing spot checks – if they are found to be something they shouldn’t have then they will get the sack!
I am trying to replace the oldies with some new people (taking the average age down a bit is my mission!!!)

 

 

 

Thanks.  Got knocked off my cycle, badly damaged shoulder (Acromio-clavicular joint dislocation grade 3 and a bit, for those into medical stuff).  It’s going to be a long summer off the bike, and even driving is out!

 

And...  Which plot were you following, BTW?  It might not be on my spreadsheet.

Are we ??? or is it that we have lost the plot totally – think it was something to do with the abundance of re-sit forms, the chocolate overdose or the booze – real cowgirls don’t just stick to coke……. It has to have some kick!!!

I do hope my team don’t get this precious....  The few problems I’ve had have been down to major issues – family bereavement, etc.

 

I’m recruiting some more invigilators due to ‘natural wastage’ (getting full-time jobs, moving away) so I hope the newbies get well treated by the ‘vets’ come the summer!  Especially as I’ve got an operation in April and will be away for the May exams, leaving my colleague to it.  I’m sure he can cope, but I do hope it all goes smoothly....
