Dear all,

Shopping? How accessible and how pleasant is it for you? What should be changed and could be improved? If you are willing to share your shopping-related experiences, please become a part of the study on accessible shopping.

The core of this research is disabled shoppers’ experiences, thus your contribution is crucial to this new area and to presenting real experiences of disabled customers. Participating in this research are some of the main manufacturers of Information Communication Technologies (mobile phones, computers, radios, etc.) and the retailer networks of Lithuania and the United Kingdom, disabled people organizations and industry representative associations.

The research is being carried out by Ieva Eskyte. I am a PhD student at the University of Leeds, School of Sociology and Social Policy, Centre for Disability. I am currently looking for anyone, who would be interested to take part in this research and to participate as mystery shoppers. The main focus is on adults over 18 years, who live in Leeds and who have different impairments or learning difficulties. The research involves a visit to the shop of your choice and 20-40 minutes conversation about different shopping-related issues as well as your experiences and opinions about them. We may have an interview either in person or via telephone or email if these are more accessible for you.

I understand that participation in this research requires your time and energy. As an expression of thanks for your participation and for sharing your knowledge, you will be provided with a 10£ voucher to spend in the shop that you choose.

My email address is [log in to unmask] I have also created the website, where you can find more detailed information about the research http://www.survey.bris.ac.uk/leeds/accessible-shopping , Facebook profile Accessible Shopping and Skype account Accessible-shopping.

If you are interested in participating in this research or would like to get more information, please feel free to contact me. Also, please feel free to share this information with anyone you think might be interested.

I am thankful for your interest in shopping and in my research and look forward to hearing from you.

Kind Regards,
