I do have to quibble however. I know that Leeds is ultimately part of the machine, and that these things are set in stone, but I would have hoped that the discipline of disability studies could have bucked the trend at least a little and couched this kind of opportunity in more realistic and disability friendly prose. It shows that you all have a lot learn about the world of neurodiversity anyway and the way in which opportunity is potentially stifled by normative paradigms. What would you regard as “evidence of internationally excellent publication potential” other than serving ones masters in the media circus of commercial academic journals rather than anything real and challenging in the up and coming world of open access publication I wonder? I personally do not doubt that I have interplanetary potential, however no-one is listening beyond the moon it seems, and that is where I am destined, because I do wonder whether I belong on the same earth sometimes.
