Lee, I would agree with your concerns and a ‘banding’ would be better. I would am unable to advise on whether it is a mandatory requirement or not for you but our local government accounts publish the redundancy payments in bands of £20k.

Subject: [data-protection] Redundancy Payments
Afternoon All
After some advice/guidance.
As part of our annual accounts we are required to show redundancy payments made (not sure if this is a statutory requirement or not) however we have only had 1 redundancy in the financial year being reported so as you can see we have a potential DP issue.
The auditors are saying we are required to publish the exact redundancy amount which will then obviously confirm X was paid £Y in redundancy.
I'm not comfortable with this and although it isn't perfect reporting a payment band is better.
Does anyone have any views/ideas?
Thanks
Lee Gardiner
