As an addendum to Patricia's message, the piece of footage featuring Butler and Taylor is from the feature film 'Examined life: Philosophy is in the streets', which also includes contributions from Michael Hardt, Martha Nussbaum, Peter Singer, Cornel West and others.

It's an enjoyable and engaging film, with many discussions in it which could be used for teaching.

Subject: video about disability - judith butler and sunaura taylor

Dear colleagues,

I was sent this very interesting video link about walking/moving through urban spaces, which takes the form of a conversation between Judith Butler and Sunaura Taylor.  It raises a number of interesting issues about embodiment, and could also be very useful for teaching - http://www.upworthy.com/this-woman-feels-like-shes-making-a-political-statement-every-time-she-orders-a-cup-of-coffee?c=ufb1

All the best,
Pat Noxolo
