Dear all,

You will have spotted the theme for this year's RGS-IBG Annual Conference: New Geographical Frontiers.

In collaboration with colleagues from the Science Museum, I have worked with members of UCL's Extreme Citizen Science research group (ExCiteS) to stretch the geographical limits of the conference. We will be hosting a one-day event at the Science Museum's Dana Centre on Friday 30th August - on the theme of participation in science. Made up of 4 sessions and a fieldtrip, it will work in much the same way as 'normal' sessions and conference goers are welcome to dip in and out of the sessions as well as remain with us for the whole day.

Supported by the SCGRG, HGRG, PyGyRG, GIScRG and hosted by the Science Museum, this exciting addition to the programme means that we are also in a position to broaden the audience of the conference - and I have pasted a link below for EventBrite pages where non-geographers interested in the themes of our event are welcome to sign-up for free: http://www.eventbrite.co.uk/event/7067323555#

Please do forward to anyone you think might be interested in our event.

For geographers interested in participation, exhibitions, display and impact, you might also like to sign up for our fieldtrip on Friday lunchtime - a one-hour tour of 3 Science Museum exhibitions involving community participation in their development.

Very best wishes,
Hilary
