The Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) has advertised a vacancy for the position of Archives Officer, based in The Hague. The appointment is for a three-year duration, renewable subject to review to a maximum of seven years.

The post reports to the Head of Documents, Registration and Archiving. Responsibilities include:
- control of registration and movement of documents 
- management of physical and virtual archiving of Divisional records
- supervising the information service
- review of procedures and collaboration on quality management initiatives within the Branch
- acting as a source of professional advice and guidance to staff.

Essential knowledge and skills:
Advanced university degree in archives administration or archives and records management. An advanced university degree in information management, with a strong archives-specific component, may be acceptable.

Essential experience:
Five years experience in the field of archives and/or archives and records administration and information management, preferably in a records management/information service context. Familiarity with use of technology (industry standard and non-standard software) for archives and information management. 
Experience of a range of information delivery services (primarily for internal business users).
