Salary:        Research Associate: £27,854 - £29,541, with progression to £36,298
                     Research Assistant: £25,504 - £27,047

 

Exciting opportunities to work in the field of medical statistics are available in the Institute of Health & Society (IHS), Newcastle University. We would like to hear from suitably qualified statisticians who would like to work in a dynamic research environment. The Institute hosts a number of projects which require statistical input and encourages active liaison with research investigators. Statisticians from IHS also provide support to colleagues in the Faculty of Medical Sciences and to clinicians across the Northern Region. 

You will provide clinicians with statistical advice; undertake secondary analysis of existing datasets, as well as writing for publication and presentation of results. You will hold a first degree in a relevant numerical, life or health related subject and a post graduate qualification in statistics, epidemiology, or biostatistics. A PhD is required for appointment at Research Associate level. Support will be given to develop applications for further funding, and if appropriate, to develop work for a higher research degree.

The position is available immediately and tenable for two years.
