The Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) will be holding a Bidders Information event for those interested in their funding opportunity for establishing Administrative Data Research Centres (ADRCs) and an ADRN Gateway to ADRCs.

The Administrative Data Taskforce was established in December 2011 with the aim of improving access to and linkage between government administrative data for research and policy purposes. In December 2012, the Administrative Data Taskforce (ADT) published its report, “The UK Administrative Data Research Network: Improving Access for Research and Policy” . The report made five key recommendations, which included the establishment of ADRCs in each of the four countries in the UK along with a single Gateway to provide a central Coordination function. The current calls seek to commission the set up and running of these.

This event aims to create a forum for potential bidders to receive comprehensive, clear and consistent information about the aforementioned calls and to enable them to participate in a Q&A session. The opportunity to establish ADRCs and the Information Gateway are the results of a consultation process between the ESRC and an expert community of senior academics, researchers, civil servants, statisticians, analysts, and other policy makers.

The agenda is as follows:

10.00 Welcome and introduction to the Administrative Data Research Network.
Professor Paul Boyle, Chief Executive, Economic and Social Research Council.

10.20 ADRN Gateway and Administrative Data Research Centres: Background, aims and objectives, key functions.

11.30 Discussion and Questions.

13.00 A Bidders Guide: evaluation criteria, procurement process and commissioning timetable.
