Hi Deb/Mona Here at NTU we have an E&D Learning and Development Adviser and used to deliver purely face to face EIA training (we now have over 100 EIA assessors trained within the University). We then worked with an external software company called Cylix and came up with an online package<http://www.cylix.co.uk/products/equality_impact_assessment_toolkit.html> (in my opinion very good) that all staff who are going to engage in equality analysis or EIAs (which remain our preferred way of carrying out equality analysis) complete before attending a follow up practical session. This session - workshop in effect - takes the tool introduced online and gives delegates the opportunity to apply to an actual policy, practice or plan that is relevant to them. We then use Cylix's online tool 'Equate' for completing and managing EIAs and coach assessors through their first EIA. I have also delivered this training extyernally (before the software was developed) and know it is applicable and transferable outside of the immediate HE sector. Any more questions please feel free to get in touch. Rather than invent the wheel I wonder if anyone has any resources they’d be happy to share. I am looking for a training policy with deliberate easy to correct equality errors. I know I’ve seen them around before. If no one has anything then ask me in a couple of weeks and you can have a newly written one from me!
