Dear all

Carol Aram, the widow of John Aram a former YGS Council member, has been sorting through John's "treasures" in preparation for an open day at the Welton-le-Wold site where he spent a lot of time and made some very exciting discoveries.  Indeed John presented a talk to the Society at Hull in October 2008 entitled "Recent developments at Welton-le-Wold: Starting to unravel the glacial sequence".   The abstract for this lecture is available in Circular 548, page 5 either on-line or in your collection of hard copy..

As well as papers, maps and notebooks, Carol has come across mammoth tusks which she is keen to sell.  If interested in purchasing these items either come to the event or get back to me.

Please find attached a notice outlining the event being organised by the Lincolnshire Geoconservation Panel of the Greater Lincolnshire Nature Partnership (GLNP) for Saturday 25th May.  Even if you are not in the market for mammoth tusks, this promises to be an informative day.

General Secretary
