Thanks a lot, Vladimir, I shall give it a go.

I have another question regarding individual MRIs.  Not sure if this is a right question: When I 'prepare the head models for all subjects individually, save them and then run the group inversion' does spm put all the coregistered MRIs into a common space--to account for differences in individual headshapes?

Dear Bhuva,

There should be a possibility at the beginning of group inversion to define a contrast that will be written out for all subjects. But you could also load the datasets in the 3D GUI one by one and specify different contrasts manually after the group inversion. Just running the inversion does not load the results in the GUI since only one subject can be viewed at a time. Also if you want to use individual MRIs you can prepare the head models for all subjects individually, save them and then run the group inversion. Finally, in the batch interface you can find tools for preparing head models, running the inversion and writing out contrasts. You can use these tools either as an alternative to or in combination with the GUI.

Best,

Vladimir

Dear MEG-SPM users,

I am running GUI-based group inversion for source reconstruction in spm8. To begin with, I am using two subjects with individual MR scans. During the process, spm does carry out most of the steps-creating layout from the MEG system, co-registration with fiducials and forward model. There is no error and all the ReML iterations finish with inversion of individual subjects.

However, there seem to be no further process and the window and image options are not highlighted.
Further, there was no option/prompt to include/select individual MR scans.

With individual subject inversion, the problem does not arise and everything goes smoothly.
Any pointers to how I may obtain the final results, i.e. images for conditions using group inversion?
