About the Lecturers

Laurent Hermoye, PhD,
founded Imagilys in 2005, a company which he is still heading. His
professional field of expertise includes advanced MR imaging
techniques, namely fMRI, DTI, perfusion imaging and neurosurgical
planning. He is the author of significant scientific publications
(Radiology 2005, Neuroimage 2006), in collaboration
with leading American universities, such as Johns Hopkins. He has
taught medical imaging techniques at Belgian Université Catholique
de Louvain during 10 years.

Vasilis K Katsaros, MD,
PhD, is a neuroradiologist at Athens Oncological Hospital and
scientific associate at Athens University's Department of
Neurosurgery. He has been trained at Freiburg University Hospital. He
has more than 20 years experience in clinical imaging of brain
diseases, with a special focus on multi-modal imaging of brain
tumors.

Steven Laureys, MD, PhD, is a
Belgian neurologist, head of the Coma Science Group at Liege
University. With major publications (NEJM 2010, Science
2006, Nature Reviews Neuroscience 2005, The Lancet
2000, etc.), he is recognized worldwide as a leading scientist
and clinician in the field of neurology of consciousness.

Jean-Jacques Lemaire, MD, PhD,
is a neurosurgeon, head of the Department of Neurosciences at
Clermont-Ferrand University Hospital in France. He has been trained
at Harvard Medical School and UCLA. His specialities include deep
brain stimulation, deep brain anatomy and connectomics.
