Equality and diversity initiatives for researchers in HEIs are often focused on achieving parity for women, but through a new programme of activities Vitae, working on behalf of the Research Councils and funding bodies, would like to promote a broader awareness of equality and diversity issues in this area to research managers and leaders. During this event we will explore: approaches to equality and diversity for researchers and research staff what would a successful equality and diversity strategy look like how could such a strategy be delivered so that 'every researcher counts' During the day participants will: explore an overview of the equality and diversity landscape, key policies and initiatives receive an update on the Every Researcher Counts project hear about Vitae's planned programme of activities and how institutions can get involved share practice have the opportunity to discuss and plan their own activities to enhance equality and diversity for researcher careers at their own institutions.
