Fixed term contract until 30 September 2015 The Academy of Medical Sciences is seeking a talented policy professional to maximise the impact of its policy work. The postholder will utilise the expertise of the Academy’s Fellows and other experts to drive forward the Academy’s policy agenda. The ideal candidate will have knowledge and experience of policy issues in medical science, healthcare or research careers. They will have: knowledge and experience of the UK policymaking process; the ability to work with experts to develop policy positions that can set the policy agenda; experience of managing and delivering projects; and excellent written and verbal communication skills. The senior policy officer will be independent, self-sufficient, and willing to work flexibly within a small and dynamic organisation. Commitment, enthusiasm and a willingness to face new challenges are key attributes. First class written and verbal communication skills are essential.
