Policy Officer
£28-£30k,
London. Fixed term contract until 30 September 2015
The Academy of Medical Sciences is seeking
a talented policy professional to maximise the impact of its policy work. The
postholder will utilise the expertise of the Academy’s Fellows and other
experts to drive forward the Academy’s policy agenda.
The ideal candidate will have knowledge and
experience of policy issues in medical science, healthcare or research careers.
They will have: knowledge and experience of the UK policymaking process; the
ability to work with experts to develop policy positions that can set the
policy agenda; experience of managing and delivering projects; and excellent
written and verbal communication skills. The senior policy officer will be
independent, self-sufficient, and willing to work flexibly within a small and
dynamic organisation. Commitment, enthusiasm and a willingness to face new
challenges are key attributes. First class written and verbal communication
skills are essential.

Head of Policy and International

The Academy of
Medical Sciences is seeking a talented and experienced policy professional to
work with its Fellows and other experts to lead the delivery of its strategic
objectives of ‘influencing policy for health and wealth’ and
‘seizing international opportunities’.
The ideal candidate
will have an excellent knowledge of policy issues in clinical and biomedical
science at UK, European and international levels. They will have: knowledge and
experience of the policy-making process in relation to biomedical research and
health; the ability to work with experts to develop positions that can set the
policy agenda; experience of managing and delivering projects; excellent
communication skills and a proven track record of developing successful networks,
relationships and partnerships with stakeholders both within the UK and
overseas.
