The Happy Museum Project New Commission Fund Launched

Happy Museum is delighted to announce a third open application fund available to English museums and a new fund open to museums in Wales. This funding is available to museums who demonstrate they can promote thinking around happiness and well-being––brought together with issues of environmental sustainability––and can leave a legacy of cultural change within their organisations and communities.

As our recent publication in collaboration with LSE’s Dr Daniel Fujiwara demonstrates, museums have a great deal to contribute to societal wellbeing, and an increasing number of academics, economists, psychologists and ecologists are identifying the vital linkage between sustainability and wellbeing and shedding new light on how thinking of these two issues in conjunction might offer the key to providing a better future.

The deadline for receipt of applications by email is 12 noon on 12th June 2013. We plan to interview shortlisted applicants on 16th and 17th July in London or the West Midlands.
