Dear colleagues,

Can I kindly remind you ( I said it in my letter) the setting up a
Confucius Classroom in Camden is not the direct cause of the job loss. It
is due to the budget cut and the decision of the head teacher. He and the
local council used Confucius Classroom as a way out when pressed by the
Teacher Union why they want to get rid of the only qualified Chinese
teacher.

I truly believe on the whole Hanban and Hanban teacher greatly helped
Chinese teaching in the UK. I have been working with Hanban teachers for
four years and they have done fantastic jobs in our spoke schools. I must
say without Hanban's support and our Hanban teacher, Mandarin teaching in
our school would be a totally different story. We probably couldn't carry
out one third of the activities we are doing with our students at the
moment.

My message to Hanban has been sent and thanks again for all the teachers
who showed your moral support to this teacher. The good news is that her
colleagues and the Teacher Union are still fighting for her.

very best wishes!

Lily
