Mark,
If you have access to the character-based interface, you should be able to do this – I do something similar using a list of patron barcodes exported from the University's central Student Records Database. The following instructions work
using PuTTY to access INNOPAC.
Get your list of patron barcodes arranged in a single column in Excel/Word/Notepad or similar:
n
ANDER91705
n
BARNA31800
n
BAVIS31207
n
BECKE82307
n
etc
Assuming your barcodes are b-tagged, prefix the first line with b= and all subsequent lines with ob=. I usually do this in Excel with the
=CONCATENATE() function.
Your list should now look like:
n
b=ANDER97105
n
ob=BARNA31800
n
ob=BAVIS31207
n
ob=BECKE82307
Using the INNOPAC create lists interface, create a search:
n
M > MANAGEMENT information
n
L > Create LISTS of records
n
<input initials, select a review file to use>
n
2 > Create a new file
n
P > Patron list
n
Now copy and paste your document of prefixed barcodes (in PuTTY you can right click to paste data from the clipboard) – see note below.
n
S to START search
n
<name your file>
n
(A > APPEND more records to review file (if required))
nb. The INNOPAC create lists function can cope with a maximum of 100 search strings, so if you have more than 100 barcodes to search you will need to break them down into chunks
of max 100, and then use the Append function within create lists (remembering to make sure that the first line of the new search begins b= rather than ob=).
Once your list is created, you can manipulate within INNOPAC or Millennium (eg Rapid/Global Update), and/or export for further manipulation if required.
Hopefully this is of some use. I can throw together something with screenshots on request.

Subject: Importing patron Data into Mill
As part of our leavers process, we need to tag all of the leavers Millennium accounts with a leavers tag.
In the past we have always done this manually, going into each record separately and tagging the record. Is there anyway that you can upload the borrower numbers into Millennium as a file and then tag the accounts that way.
I've had a look at the manual and cant seem to find an answer to this.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
