Thanks, Kim!

Further to Kim's timely reminder about Learn Higher's excellent resources, this is just to remind folks that the Learn Higher Working Group have been working to further improve and develop the site's resources. The new site will include more extensive advice and guidance on integrating these materials into teaching. Those who attended the ALDinHE Conference in Plymouth may already have seen examples some of the work that has been done.

As soon as this work is complete and ready to access, the Learn Higher Working Group will alert the list.

All best,

Steve

Haven't noticed anyone mentioning LearnHigher yet which was, of course, designed with just this purpose in mind. Everything is on a Creative Commons licence and can be adapted, with acknowledgement. Covers pretty much all the areas covered by learning development services, research-informed and peer-evaluated - www.learnhigher.ac.uk.

(Our materials at Reading are also openly available and have been very widely used in other institutions, so you're also welcome to use them with usual acknowledgement - http://www.reading.ac.uk/internal/studyadvice/StudyResources/sta-studyresources.aspx.)

Subject: Updating resources

Hi all,

UWS is currently updating its resource bank. Instead of (please excuse cliché use) 'reinventing the wheel', I was wondering if any of you could recommend Creative Commons sites, which cover topics such as:

Critical thinking/writing/reading
Reflection/reflective writing
Academic writing, specifically lit reviews Paraphrasing/synthesising Research skills Exam Technique

Thanks in advance,
Dickson.
