CALL FOR PERFORMANCES
The Society for Pirandello Studies one-day conference in collaboration with UCL Italian (SELCS):
I vecchi e i giovani – One Hundred Years On: Pirandello and the Family
Saturday 9 November 2013
Bloomsbury Theatre, London
The annual one-day conference of the Society for Pirandello Studies aims to embrace a wide variety of methods and approaches to Pirandello’s oeuvre, and to bring together theatre professionals, critics and scholars representing a range of disciplines. This year’s conference will mark the 100th anniversary of Pirandello’s historical novel I vecchi e i giovani, though proposals need not necessarily focus on the novel.
Following last year’s successful performances, we are pleased to announce that we will continue to introduce performances alongside conference papers. Particularly welcome are contributions that relate the written texts to other media, especially those that relate to the wider theme of the family in Pirandello. Abstracts of c. 200 words (in English) for performances of 10-20 minutes should be sent to Enza De Francisci at [log in to unmask] and include:
1) Description of the performance
2) A list of technical requirements
3) A short biography (c. 100 words)
4) Contact details of performers involved
The deadline for abstracts is Friday 23 August 2013.
Please note that there will be a run-through of the performances in the Rehearsal Studio at the Bloomsbury Theatre on Thursday 7 November 2013, from 18:00-21:30.
