I have sent the same letter (thanks Jennifer) and followed it up with a phone call to Service Operations who have advised me the date in the EO update e-mail was wrong and the entry date is 23rd May. I have asked for this in writing due to the amount of issues we have had with their Functional Skills dates this year and will forward it on when I receive it. I think we could all do without the late afternoon e-mails – what a nightmare !

Hi

I was dismayed to read that the June FS entry deadline is tomorrow (16th May).  Contrary to the message on your EO update that states that the Information Manual gave the deadline as 16th May but the website said 23rd, in fact the Information Manual says 23rd May.

The date was recently queried by a number of exams officers around the country because of conflicting published information, and they were reassured by Edexcel that 23rd was the correct date.

Your announcement below coming so late in the day just before the deadline means that an impossible task now faces some Exams Officers with large FS cohorts who are already stretched to the limit running A-Level and GCSE exams.

Would you please consider extending the deadline or waiving late fees for a week to compensate for this poor communication?

Please remember you are able to track your summer 2013 question papers by using the question paper despatch tool on Edexcel Online.

For security reasons you will need an Edexcel Online account to access this service.

The online tool will allow you too;

  • View question papers that have been sent to you
  • Track the papers' delivery progress
  • Obtain delivery details for the consignment of question papers

Functional Skills June Entry deadline

As a result of incorrect information that was posted on our website we would like to confirm that the entry deadline for the Functional Skills June 2013 exams series is 16 May 2013 as detailed in the Information Manual. 

Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience the error on the website may have caused. 

Parcelforce Labels update

We are currently experiencing high volumes of requests for Parcelforce labels, and as a result, orders will take longer to process than the usual 2 working days. 

Please be patient whilst we work to reducing the backlog to normal levels. If you have already submitted requests for labels via our online form or email please refrain from re-submitting your request as duplicate requests are slowing down the process.

Feedback on 2013/2014 Examination Timetables

We are aware that we are the only awarding body to provide hard copy posters of exam timetables which we send to you at the beginning of the academic year. 

In preparation towards the 2013/2014 academic year, rather than producing hardcopy posters, we are considering to provide a user friendly online timetable.
