BUTOH PERFORMANCE & WORKSHOPS IN LONDON (30th May-2nd June)
Japanese butoh dancers Yuri and Seisaku will be performing and running workshops from 30th May to 2nd June @ Chisenhale Dance Space and London Buddhist Arts Centre. Butoh is a Japanese avant-garde performance technique founded in the late 1950s by Hijikata Tatsumi, and this is a rare opportunity to experience the movement with one of Hijikata's direct disciples Seisaku and his dance partner Yuri. The workshops are open to all ages and backgrounds and require no previous training. They will be conducted in English and Japanese (with English translation). 
PERFORMANCE: Seisaku and Yuri Butoh Improvisation Performance in collaboration with musician sound artist Nick Parkin on 30th May 7pm-8pm @ Chisenhale Dance Space (£14 advance booking; £15 on the door)
WORKSHOPS: The intensive workshops will take place at the following times: May 31st 12- 4pm @ CDS/ June 1st 1-6pm @ CDS/ June 2nd 11am-4pm @ LBAC (£130 early birds before 1st May; £145 after 1st May)
