Post: Lead Manager – Archives
(County Archivist)
Employer: West Sussex County Council
Salary: £42,144 - £45,147
A vacancy will arise on the impending
retirement of the current County Archivist. The office is based in Chichester
and the post reports to the Head of Information Services in the Directorate
of Service Operations in West Sussex County Council. Based on qualifications
and experience, you should have extensive knowledge of professional practice
and current issues within archives and records management.
You should have a forward thinking,
innovative and flexible approach to suit the challenges ahead. You should
also be committed to building partnerships, engaging with other services,
project and community working and income generation. You will possess proven
managerial skills at a senior level in the archives sector and be capable
of inspiring staff in exciting and changing times.
You will inherit an exceptional
and well-motivated staff in a high-performing office and be expected to
provide the vision and leadership to build on our achievements. Underpinning
all this, you should have an enthusiasm and passion for the importance,
potential and relevance of recorded heritage in the corporate environment
and in the modern world.
