PERMANENT POSITION

Role

This is a permanent position based in the Home Counties and will report to the Director of Biometrics. The Statistics and Programming team is a centrally based team wholly integrated with Data Management whilst having close links to Clinical Operations and the Medical Department. This role would suit a technically strong SAS Programmer with experience of leading multiple studies concurrently whilst having comprehensive knowledge of the clinical development process and its critical paths. In this role you lead multiple global projects and work with the Director of Biometrics to manage the resources and timelines for these. The position will have 2 or 3 direct reports giving you overall responsibility for the Statistical Programming team where you will act as the technical specialist/mentor within the department whilst serving as the main point of contact for internal and external customers.


Overall Responsibilities


  *   Provides programming and technical support to allocated studies within agreed project timelines.
  *   Experience in the production and QC of Tables, Figures, Listings and Graphs.
  *   Communicates programming related study issues to the Study Statistician.
  *   Provides technical leadership within the SAS programming team including line management as required.
  *   Ensures clinical trials are conducted such that subjects' rights, safety and well being are protected and that the clinical trial data are reliable.
  *   Monitors workload of department and acts in the event of problems relating to internal staff workload that may affect the quality and functioning of the tasks being undertaken.
  *   Assists the department head with resource projections and recruitment of new staff.
  *   Ensures the company fulfils its obligation to provide clients with appropriate strategic and technical advice for statistical programming related elements of their clinical development programmes.
  *   Maintains up to date knowledge of relevant regulatory guidance and requirements.

Statistical programming responsibilities


  *   Production and QC of Tables, Figures, Listings and Graphs.
  *   Programmes electronic data checks as required.
  *   Liaises with external suppliers for receipt of electronic data as required.
  *   Performs ad hoc programming tasks to assist the Head of Statistics with data review.
  *   Reviews statistical content of the CSR.
  *   Liaises with Data Management to ensure accurate derivation of statistical output from CRF data.
  *   Adheres to scope of work, budget and timelines for all study related activities and flags potential changes in scope.
  *   Proactively communicates database and programming issues to internal and external study teams and suggests resolutions.
  *   Represents the statistics team at sponsor meetings as required
