Also via WEQAS, RIQAS and BioRad……………..
Think difficulty will be that although recommendation was widely supported, there are no teeth. Bear in mind that accreditation of clinical labs in UK is not mandatory!
For those being accredited, where in standards does it state that units must be X or that path harmony must be complied with??

Subject: Re: Units for Troponin reporting
Thanks Julian,
There are two possible ways to communicate this and effect implementation:
1. via CPA: compliance with pathology harmony is monitored. 2. via NEQAS: all returns should be in ng/L for troponins.
Regards
Mohammad
Pathology Harmony made this recommendation 2.5 years ago and was supported by ACB, IBMS and RCPath. Despite this endorsement, it is a pity that colleagues do not think that harmonisation across the country is an important aim. Julian
