Dear Colleagues,
we had an excellent meeting about SUDI in Leeds last week. Thankyou to all the contributors, presenters and audience.
There was good practical advice from Heidi Cox, Hull, detailing the how she had compiled and deployed a SUDI box with instructions and sample containers. This was best practice that could well be emulated across the country. But must be only done after full consultation with paediatricians and ideally the SUDI Lead for the Trust.
The other presentations gave excellent discussions about toxicological and IEM causes of SUDI together with some current theories about why babies can suffocate if not laid on their backs.
All six presentations are now available to download from the MetBioNet website; www.metbio.net

Best Wishes
Mick Henderson
