Dear Colleagues
The University of Birmingham is currently running a Policy Commission on the Distribution of Wealth in the UK, chaired by David Urquhart, Lord Bishop of Birmingham. The Commissioners are currently in the process of taking evidence from experts across academia, policy, and practice, in order to examine some of the questions currently facing the distribution of wealth in the UK.
As part of the Commission’s activates, the Commission will be holding a panel debate to explore major themes that will be central to its report. The debate will focus around the current levels of wealth inequality and whether policy interventions are needed, and which interventions, if any, would be most effective.
Panellists include Bishop Urquhart, Paul Johnson - Director of the IFS, John Hills - Professor of Social Policy and Director of the Centre for Analysis of Social Exclusion (CASE) at the London School of Economics and Sir Brian Pomeroy - former Chair of the Financial Inclusion Taskforce
