Dear colleagues

A volunteer run museum I am advising is seeking a curator to operate a one-week pilot project to catalogue an electrical object collection.  This work is paid at £1,167 and is in Christchurch, Dorset and is scheduled for 5 days, week commencing 3 June.

The work involves leading a small team comprised of
1 curator (the applicant)
2 doc asssistants (experienced volunteers)
1 freelance photographer (paid commercial)

The objective is to put as many objects as fast as possible on MODES, thus creating:

New object numbers (there are none at present)
Tying numbers onto objects
Brief description
One photo
Simple location.

If anyone is interested, please contact me off list.  Travel expenses, subsistence and accommodation will also be made available.

Specialist electrical knowledge is not essential.  Speed and confidence in documentation is the essential quality required.

This might ideally suit a curator between jobs; a newly-retired person, or someone who just fancies a change of scene for a week - but who loves documentation.

To apply please send a short CV and covering statement and I will forward these to the museum.

Yours,

John Beckerson
Curator, Energy (MOSI) but please mail me at  [log in to unmask] as I'm doing this in my spare time to help them, and it's not a MOSI project.
