Dr Margaret Reynolds (Queen Mary, London University)
Poetry and People: The Real Language of Men (and Women and Children)

Margaret Reynolds is Professor of English at Queen Mary, University of London. Her books include The Sappho History (2003), The Sappho Companion (2000) and Victorian Women Poets (with Angela Leighton, 1995). Her edition of Elizabeth Barrett Browning’s Aurora Leigh (1992) won the British Academy’s Rose Mary Crawshay Prize. She broadcasts regularly on BBC Radio 3 and 4 on poetry, music and opera, gives talks for the Royal Opera House, the English National Opera and Opera North and writes reviews for The Times and comment for The Guardian. She is the presenter of BBC Radio 4’s ‘Adventures in Poetry’ and is a Life Member of Clare Hall, Cambridge.
