Graduate Library Assistant: Two posts
Special Collections and Archives
Closing date for applications is 15 May 2013
The two posts are attached to Special Collections and Archives where the main duties will be to act as the first point of contact for researchers visiting the reading room, to direct researchers to catalogues and finding aids, retrieve
materials, give basic instruction in the handling of fragile books and manuscripts, answer enquiries by telephone, email or letter, upgrade archival finding aids and process orders for photocopying and photography.
All candidates should have, or expect to have, an upper second class Honours degree and serious intentions of pursuing a career in professional librarianship or archives work. Additional training is provided by a general induction programme
as well as specific training for the post.
The posts are available from 9 September 2013 until 12 September 2014
